We are currently looking for a System & Network Administratorfor our Mississauga office.

Remco has embarked on an ambitious transformation of all information and digital services provided to our operational units and customers. With a number of projects in progress and several others to begin soon, we are expanding our Team to include a System and Network Administrator to participate in this exciting initiative.

This role maintains all aspects of the company’s digital infrastructure by ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of new and existing technology that support Remco’s core functions. This includes maintaining networks, servers, storage units, camera and location security systems, in addition to personal computers, network devices, switches and access points, RFID scanners, VOIP phones, video conference systems, as well as tablet/phone and driver mobile devices.

The ideal candidate should have a hands-on, roll-up your sleeves attitude and will focus on providing outstanding service to the end user community and our customers. He/She should have previous exposure to a number of vendors and products supporting technical infrastructure and may recommend new vendors or solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • To maintain, configure and troubleshoot Windows servers, Database servers and Storage devices supporting our operational and financial applications.
  • To maintain, configure an troubleshoot LAN, WAN and wireless LAN connections in our locations
  • To maintain, configure and troubleshoot all camera and security access systems to meet company needs
  • To ensure maximum availability and uptime of all infrastructure services to meet company’s operational needs
  • To ensure backups are executed as per schedule and disaster recovery procedures are in place.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 5+ years direct work experience as a System and Network Administrator in a mid-size, fast-moving, dynamic environment, preferably in Transportation, Distribution, 3PL
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot LAN, WAN and wireless LAN connections, installation and configuration of CISCO switches and firewalls
  • Expert understanding of Active Directory, privileges, modification of security groups, policies and addition/removal of users
  • Install and configure wired and wireless NIC, Test and terminate cables
  • Install, configure and maintain VPN’s, VLANS and routing to support a multi-location system.
  • Knowledge of backup and all aspects of disaster recovery procedures and methodology
  • Ability to troubleshoot Windows servers and workstations, printers, scanners and miscellaneous hardware
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows Servers (2012 & above), Windows Win7 & 10 worktations.
  • Knowledge of VPN and Security protocols
  • Be able to recommend to Management which security protocol to adopt
  • Knowledge of Exchange and ability to add, modify, remove users from Network and Web mail
  • Troubleshoot email connectivity, and resolve email errors
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server, familiarity with DB2 and SQL, maintain existing DB2 environment, with ability to write SQL
  • Familiarity with TMW transportation products, or HighJump Warehouse products an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service
  • Ability to travel to our locations as needed
  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering Technology or related field, or a combination of industry certifications and related work experience
  • Knowledge of ITIL principles and procedures
  • MTA, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA or CCNP certification
