Nestled amongst the rolling Caledon hills, Spirit Tree Estate Cidery is an apple orchard hosting a cidery, bakery, bistro, and farm store serving customers throughout Caledon and the GTA. Our award-winning facility is both energy efficient and environmentally friendly. We pride ourselves on offering the best local products and produce and on creating superb cider, artisan bread, and pastries for your gastronomic pleasure. Our bakery is open 5 days a week and holiday Mondays preparing for our Retail Shoppe and restaurant operations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee all pastry & bread production (artisan bread, pastry, pie fillings, cookies, scones, etc.)
- Maintain inventory
- Maintain production schedule for all pastry production
- Ensuring correct consistency, quality and appearance of product by complying with approved recipes and procedures
- Participate in the execution of special events; including food prep, staffing
- Maintaining sufficient retail inventory of all bread, pastry and related products
- Fast paced environment, working at an efficient pace & have strong communication skills
Experience:
- Wood fired oven experience preferred
- Minimum of 5 year experience as baker / pastry chef
- Experience with Sour dough bread production required
- Scratch pie making, laminated dough and prior experience using a sheeter an asset
Must have reliable transportation, as no public transit is available.
